Another Nursery Question

Posted by sueinhighland Utah (My Page) on

Hi there! I'd appreciate any tips you can offer. I purchased a wide variety of plants from High Country Garden about two years ago and I am thrilled with them - they are beautiful now, but I'm hoping to find a local source for plants like penstemons, agastache (hummingbird mint), hesperaloe and salvia. Does anyone know of any local nurseries that sell plants like this?

Thanks for anything you can share with me!

RE: Another Nursery Question

Many nurseries will carry at least a limited selection of these plants. Willard Bay Gardens has quite an extensive selection though not always the same varieties as High Country Gardens. Local sources will always be cheaper than HCG though I am awaiting a small shipment from them even now.

Hi Sue

Try The Rose Shop in Sandy - about 1900 E. 10600 S. - Rob has many borderline plants including large yucca rostratas, joshua and numerous other things. HCG has a huge selection but everthing is much smaller and many years from maturity.

Good luck, Alan

RE: Another Nursery Question

Since you're in Highland, have you tried Highland Farms yet? I don't know what they have, but it's close by. They're actually in American Fork, but it's just down the road from Lone Peak High School -- head south on 4800 West, and it's on the left side just a little after the funeral home.
