I am a Virginia native but I am currently working in Asia as a landscape architect. Next year I plan to return to Virginia and work. I like the Staunton/Charlottesville area but I am unsure about the economic situation there. Would a nursery stocked with interesting plants and knowledgeable staff survive? I know it takes a few years to see any profit but I don�t want to set up shop if it is doomed to fail. I would like to offer antique roses, European/UK perennials, terrestrial orchids, Virginia natives, herbs, rare bulbs, and annuals. I teach gardening classes for adults and children in Korea and would also like to continue these in Virginia. I have called a few classmates from uni and they told me that the US is in a depression and will only get worse after the ACA fully kicks in. Any advice would be appreciated!
