| I really don't think the weather had much to do with the height this spring. Bulbs damaged by disease, cuts, or even thrips; and/or old bulbs that hadn't been given enough time to mature last summer; and/or they are planted on a rock and thus can't establish a good root system; and/or they will keep growing during the season [I've seen scilla start short and 6 weeks later be trebled in height]; and/or you have a variety different from that advertised... Okay, give the bulbs another couple weeks, and if they aren't what you expected, contact Brent & Beckys. Those are good folks and should be able to help you. Take photos, with a ruler beside the stem to show what's there. A picture really can be worth a thousand words of explanation :) Personally, I'm thinking either the bulbs haven't been able to establish a root system or they were damaged -- or you've gotten a neat little miniature! |
