what is your favorite place to see spring wild flowers in Northern Virginia?

Most of the local hiking clubs have wildflower hikes. Here's one below. Its links section will take you to the others. Also look for PARKTAKES, the Fairfax county park catalog, at your library. Some of the county parks have walks. Manassas battlefield park has a bluebell walk every spring. Even if the hikes are more than you want, it will give you an idea of where to look.

not exactly northern virginia, but have you seen the trillium trail in Markham (out near Shenandoah?) it's AMAZING and now should be about the time to go...

Other great places to see wildflowers: Bull Run Regional Park has an amazing display of meadowland Virginia bluebells (may be past time now); the Virginia Arboretum has some neat stuff in the summertime; the National Arboretum has a great collection of native plants that should be in full flower from now on.

Also, Huntley Meadows park in Alexandria (south of the Beltway) has some great stuff, and BIRDS!
