Plant sale and The Queen

| I'd really like to go to the plant sale this Thursday PM at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, but the only time available to me would involve my arriving in Richmond at about 4:30 PM (I'd be leaving work in Newport News at 3:15 and travelling west on 64). Since this coincides with the Queen's visit to Richmond for the Jamestown celebration, I'm wondering what traffic conditions will be like - can I get there, and if I do, will I then be able to get back home(she's spending the night in Williamsburg after visiting Richmond)? Everyone else is trying to SEE the queen, and I'm trying to avoid her - any suggestions from people more familiar with the Richmond layout than I am? |

No - but I can't blame it on the queen. I was too tired after a day of wrangling children (I teach elementary school), and had too much to do in my OWN garden, so didn't make it this year. And the truth is that I need to HAVE a plant sale rather than visiting one...but thanks for asking! Of course, I used my not being able to go to the sale to justify several mail orders anyway, so logic didn't entirely rule the day. |
