| Has anyone grown Dahlias in the Richmond area? Any advice? Will they overwinter in the ground here with a heap of mulch or should I still dig them and store them for the winter?
Thanks,

| Mine survived over winter when they were planted next to the foundation of the house on the south side in the sun and mulched lightly. This spot is a micro-climate zone 8 or so and they did very well there. I ended up moving them to another spot in the yard because they were just too big for that bed and they didn't survive the following winter. I'm in northern Chesterfield near Chesterfield Towne Center. |

| That sounds very similar to my planting area. I am looking forward to giving it a try and will certainly enjoy not having to dig them in the fall. If I don't dig and store, how often should I dig and divide? Thanks, TBT |
