Yucca Transplanting

I just tried to transplant a yucca ( one of a group of 3, @24" leaf height) I don't know what kind, it was here when we moved.

I dug up the tap root, but I only got @ 12", the rest was cut by the shovel.

It's leaves have wilted, none are standing now.

WILL IT SURVIVE IF THE TAP ROOT IS CUT?

Yes, give it time to recover, however, it may take a few months.

It has survived. Looks great in the urn!
