Virginia native plant?

| So, my mother planted a plant and she doesn't know what it is and whether it is a native plant. Can somebody help ID it?

| do you have a shot from a little more of a distance? It looks like it might be a magnolia. |

| It looks like rhododendron to me. I'd have to see a wider shot to be sure. |
