| Did a new walkway, tore out the 20 year old builder foundation plantings ...
Need some good gardening dirt. We'll use this to build up to the new
sidewalk - about 4", plus cover/mix into the older beds and expand
these beds, plus new. A yard or two will find its way into our veggie
garden in the back.
Where to get? Some places have top soil (dirt) and composte separate.
Recommendations/experiences sought!
It is hard to compare - I just want about 9 yards of good stuff - for
bushes, flowers, bulbs - plantings well grow into.
It'll need to be delivery. |

| I've had poor experience with Virginia Groundcovers in Sterling... I felt I got clay mixed with hardwood mulch. I'd check out Hamilton Milling in Hamilton, Virginia. I'm not sure they carry top soil, but they have a terriffic fine black leaf mold that might be even better for your application. |

| The former Windy Hill is still doing bulk compost delivery. Email or call them. 703-327-6413 or Rick@windyhill.net. Located in Aldie (lower Loudoun County). I get from him every spring and have had great results for the past 5 years. |

| Thanks for the scoop ... I went with a 50/50 mix from Neff and Neff in Manassas Park. It looks pretty good, and we'll be planting something soon. Maybe this weekend .... we've seen some cool stuff, but don't want the ordinary foundation planting... Got 10yds of mulch (actually I got 13 yds of soil after calculating again) as well from same place. |
