I have 2 salavatski poms in Vienna, Va. The one in back which is against a south facing wall has been leafing out for about a week. The one in front which has no protection still looks dead, but I haven't given up on it.

My "wonderful red" pomegranates are just showing signs of life. There's a house off of Monument Ave. in the fan area of Richmond with a 10ft+ flourishing tree.

The unprotected pomegranate is leafing out. Hooray!

We visited my sister-in-law in New Bern, NC last week and the rooted pomegranate cutting that that I gave her 2 years ago is now a beautiful little tree in full bloom. I am suffering from a severe case of zone envy.

I planted an angel red and a russian pomegranite last fall. The angel red did not make it, but the russian grew from the roots and is about 6 inches tall.

I learned my lesson with poms - I'm going to try the russian route this time. Angel and Wonderful are a no-go here, even microclimated. They don't seem to accept dieback well.
