Just a word to let all in the vicinity of Richmond,Virginia know about the annual Spring plant sale on 1 AND 2 May, 2008. Many very hard-to-find plants will be on sale and many others which You'd like to display in your own garden.The gardens are in the Lakeside section of Richmond.

Did anyone here go to this sale? Any reports? If you tell me there was paeonia mlokosewitschii or rhododendron austrinum, I will feel really bad that I missed it!

You didn't miss much of anything!!! The selection this year was pretty rinky-dink. The two taxa that you mentioned are on my want list also;they seem to be difficult to locate

Taxonomist, are you interested in peonies too? I've had so much fun growing the seeds from my rockii that I'm interested in trying some other species.

I have a rooted cutting of My Mary which is a selected austrinum, but I'd like to have at least one seed grown plant too.

It says on your member page that you manage a propagation greenhouse--what an awesome job!
