Getting Rid of Bamboo

| Like rnrmills, my bamboo problem stemmed from my neighbor planting the bamboo. I've lived in my home for over 20 years and didn't notice the growing bamboo until 5 years ago. When the first few stalks sprouted, I didn't even know what it was until I tried to pull it out of the ground, thinking it was a tough weed. --- boy, was I wrong. It started growing behing my shed and has sinced penetrated through concrete and is now invading my backyard lawn. It's also growing towards my other neigbor's yard. Bamboo is the beast of all beasts. ---Can a neighbor be sued for planting it in the first place? ---
I'm going to try the Round-up and try to obtain sodium chlorate. I'm getting very anxious, as I do not want this beast to invade and crack my foundation. Yikes!! |

| Good morning, I am no expert, but I heard that if you just step on the "baby" sprouts that is enough to kill them. I am a bit nervous now, because my neighbor has planted bamboo also. Good luck, let me know how it goes! |

| I just replied to someone elses post on the same subject. Mow them down low then mow them again and again. It will take the rest of the summer to get rid of what you have, but if your neighbors have it right next to your yard, you're fighting a loosing battle unless you get them to do the same. |
