| Hi, everyone~ That was me--I did it! Thanks Peggy, for posting it here. The Tomato Tasting was successful and good fun, so we are planning to repeat it next year. There were 51 people who came, the speakers were good, and we had over 40 tomatoes to taste. As the organizer, I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to count them, but we ran out of the foam plates and I'd bought a pack of 40. The table was so full that I only had room for my 'Mr. Stripey'and 'Green Zebra', so the other 4 kinds stayed in their basket--a disapointment, but they were donated later to the local food pantry with the uncut tomatoes. We voted on the "best tasting" varieties in 4 categories plus favorite over-all. If anyone wants the results, they can e-mail me at mjkoaktregarden@aol.com for the wrap-up. I hope that I remember to invite everyone next year, but if I don't please remind me... Maggie |
