I am thinking of forming such a society and wanted to see how many people in the commonwealth might have an interest in it? The focus would be on education, sharing of ideas/cold hardy testing and swapping plants and seeds. Please let me know if you have an interest and I will keep you updated.

Did it happen? I just rejoined the forums after a 10-year hiatus but one of the things that sparked my interest was a poor Cycas revoluta I had no room for and tucked away in an corner of the rock garden. It weathered two winters and got to be a good four-five feet across before a wet winter finally doomed it.

Yes, I am going to make a formal announcement soon. It will be an invited group that will meet formally 4 times per year. Garden tours and visits to nuseries will be made as a group as they become available and scheduled. I hope to share seeds and fact sheets with new members to help get them started in this new and exciting hobby. The founders met earlier this month to kick things off. Stay tuned.

I am planning a founds/charter member meeting for sometime in late January/early February 2007 and I will e-mail anyone that is interested in the meeting.
