Know any rain dances?

Don't want anyone to get hammered, but we could use a tropical remnant around here! Doesn't look much like rain for the next week or more. Must be August in VA!

The last time I shook my booty, there was flooding. Maybe I can try a half strength dance. ; )

Do you ever read Mutts? I think my "dancing" is embarrassingly similar to Mooch's (the cat from the strip).

We do indeed need some rain. My rain barrels are for bog use only at this point.

I was getting together some folks for a rain dance, with castenets and thunder-drums, and then they heard about hurricane Debby.... no use to tell them that Debby will probably not come to Virginia. Sigh, I have the feeling they don't trust me to do a *small* raindance.

Seems like I remember what you're talking about... something like moisture falling from the sky? Haven't seen much this summer. DH has a "rain stick" that our daughter converted to a "NO rain stick" a few years back when we were getting record rainfalls. Maybe she can un-convert it and we can shake it at the sky a few times. ;-)

And while we're on the subject of tropical storms, what happened to the forecasters this year? Unless things pick up quickly, it looks like an average to below average year. I know there are people who appreciate that but they're a major source of our summer rains.
