Phone Book Glue

Is telephone book glue the same glue as corrugated cardboard glue? Or is it similar to the plastic of hot glue sticks? I am ripping pages out of old phone books but maybe I do not have to. The covers are slick so I am throwing them away. Or can I just leave the phone book whole? I did see a video with a guy who vermicomposts whole books. I tore up a few. Not fun and the fluffy bedding will probably immediately clump up just like newspaper. Then I was just going to fill a 5 gallon bucket with the pages on edge to absorb any drips from the worm inn. Now I'm thinking if I grow oyster mushrooms on them first it will precompost the pages a bit into maybe fluffy stuff.
