| Hey brainiac, Where in NC are you located? There is a worm farmer in West Jefferson, NC. It is called Blue Ridge Vermiculture. The owner, Alan Hansen is an extremely nice guy. He is always willing to answer any questions you might have. Alan has Red Worms and European Nightcrawlers for only $30 per pound, including shipping. And, he has RW and ENC cocoons (eggs) for only $25 per 1,000, including shipping. And, the more you buy, the cheaper they get! And, if you live close enough to him that you can go pick them up yourself, you could even save the shipping!! Good luck to you,

| I usually try to get people to buy worms from somewhere near home as the worms are more likely to be used to the climate/conditions. But I'll still share the info on the place where I bought my worms. They are local to us (actually have a booth at the market near us on weekends) in Central Florida. |

| I see post above of $30 ad $25 per lb as being cheap. I found the best price to be from Tim Quick. He has 5 lbs of Euros for $89 ($18 lb) and that even includes shipping. I weighed the "5" lbs I got from him on my very accurate electronic postage scales and he sent 5.5 lbs. They were all nice worms - full size breeders. I counted out a pound and there were 400 per lb. |

| We got our red wigglers from "Wormy Acres of Vermont" at a Farmer's Market last summer for $25/lb. I think they also sell online at their website: http://vermontworms.com |

| I just started mine by thowing the red worms away from when i went fishing in the bin. in the kitchen. now i have hundreds of worms in the bin. never need to buy them again. caught a 5 lbs bass with one last friday with a redworm. So dont let the people tell you redworms are used for small fish. |
