Cool! Sounds like it is doing good. You might want to add some cardboard. In addition to vermicomposting you might want to read up on mushroom growing and give those a try. Bees and honey are also a nice do at home hobby similar to vermicomposting.

Do you happen to have any idea how long it might take for this compost to finish, so I can use it in my veggie patch? There aren't too many bits of recognizable food (except for the avocado skins I was too lazy to chop up), but there's quite a bit of straw and cardboard left from the original bedding. Daytime temps are around 50 F/10 C, and nighttime are perhaps 40 F/5 C.
