Your bedding looks pretty deep. This might be fine, but as it settles, you may not want to try to keep the level this high. Shoot for not more than 10 inches of fresh bedding, As the bedding in the bottom of the bin is converted to castings, the total depth can be deeper than 10 inches, since there will be few worms remaining in the castings. (then again, some like it down there, because there is more moisture.

Concerning the sunlight, there are two potential problems. 1) light. Worms don't like light. If the sun is too bright on the bin, and there is no cover, the worms will just dig down a bit into the bedding. No harm done. 2) heat. If the sunlight shining on the bin causes the temperature in the bin to rise much above 90 degrees F, you could kill your worms.

Woodlice are a good compliment to a worm bin, but in my experience, they don't like to stay put.

How many worms did you start with? In my experience well-moistened coir is great for encouraging the worms to breed, so in a couple of months time, If I were you I'd split the bin to get the depth down.
I'd also be very wary of afternoon sun. Morning sun isn't quite as bad from a heat point of view as your concrete will be cold after the night (or are you in a very warm climate?) But by afternoon on a sunny day your concrete will have warmed up, so if you add more heat your worms may cook.

When my bin overheats, I get a mass exodus of worms. You might use that as an indicator but the general advice seems to be not to have the bins in direct sunlight. (I keep telling myself not to overfeed the critters - which releases a lot of heat, but I still seem to do it every few months.)
