My first attempt at vermicomposting

I finally decided to have a go at vermicomposting so I put some coconut coire (with some leftover perlite, which I'm hoping the worms are smart enough not to eat) and shredded paper into a well-ventilated rubbermaid bin. I've added worms and woodlice (the chunks on the top are from the same vermicompost as the worms, and have since been turned in) and gave them some parsley, beets, and strawberries to munch on.

The bin is on my back patio and receives sun in the afternoons, I hope this won't stress the worms? These forums are a fantastic resource and I feel like I've already learned a lot just browsing the topics at hand.
