dried grass clippings

Do dried grass clippings make good bedding? Will they heat up like fresh grass clippings? There aren't very many trees around my house to collect leaves from so I'm trying to find out what else I can use for bedding. Thanks

I regularly used dried grass clipping in my backyard. It doesn't heat up like green grass clipping.

Are you trying to use it as mulch or as compost?

My bedding consists of shredded paper/cardboard/dried grass clippings/shredded leaves. I think dried grass clippings are fine as long as they aren't soaked and turned into a matted up mess.

Sorry Eric...I was thinking of different bedding. I think you are talking about bedding in your vermicompster...right? Why don't you use newspaper?

i am wanting to start this on a commercial level. i have lots of types of grass on my place here and none are bermuda. is this cool to use for some of the bedding along with the newspaper and leaves and such?
