Amy, I had lots of those last year. They don't harm the worms. I haven't noticed any yet this year, so maybe the like warmer temps. Here's what mine looked like.

Andrew - thanks for the reply. My beetles seem to be getting bigger :( they are black and shiny. I do not like them. They run fast and give me the creeps. How do I prevent them from multiplying?

Amy, I didn't care for them either, but I had no idea how to get rid of them. They simply died off on their own over the winter.

You could try baiting the grubs with something like slices of bread or melon rinds. I'm guessing they would get to such food more quickly than the worms. Once the grubs swarm the bait (and before the worms get there), throw out the bait with the grubs. It might be a long battle and I'm not sure you'll be able to totally eradicate them.
