Stench from meal worm castings

I was wondering why I couldn't find any info on meal worm castings after much research except for one ad from Rainbow farms. Seems no one used it, or if they did never bothered to put anything on the internet about it. I think I know why. I bought a 28 pound bag of them and was using it in my garden and it seemed to be working OK. I decided to add some to some Pro-Mix BX with biofungicide potting mix that I use for starting all my seeds. The ad was right, these castings don't smell when dry. But mix them with potting soil and wet it and let it sit around for a few days and it stinks to high heaven, and even attracts flys. Under no circumstances add meal worm castings to potting soil to be used inside your house, or even near your house outside. If you even touch the stuff with your bare hands your skin will smell too even if you wash with soap to try to get the smell off. I was going to buy a large quantity of this stuff but now am glad the guy selling it never called me back.
