I wouldn't worry about them too much. If they earwigs they will have a little pincher thing on their tail end. Maybe you could steel your nerves, put on some thick gloves and ski goggles and take another peek.

If they are earwigs you can easily get rid of them by wetting a rolled up newpaper while it's inside a plastic sleeve and place it in the bin. The earwigs will climb inside the plastic bag to be inside the wet paper and then you can grab the bag by the open end and throw them all out in the trash. Course this will involve getting fairly close to them so you might want to have someone there to cheer you on if you get squeamish.

I have my worm bins in the garage. I balance the trays on top of a 4 gallon white plastic bucket. Not too many bugs and no rodents or reptiles will climb up into it over that bucket. I do have a healthy population of BSF, but since I've had them for years now, I have gotten used to their slimy, disgusting larva, and am mostly able to tolerate them flying up at my face when I open my bins.

As far as the earwigs, if that's what they are, they don't do any real harm to the worms or to the worms food because they do basically the same job as the worms do. They're just much creepier looking. Cheryl
