I love the idea! Even badmitton birdies for that matter. Great concept!

I like the idea for RM bins, but I don't think FT bins need any more air.

I don't think they'd fill with vermicastings, but I bet the worms would like them.

Oh great idea, I mean, yikes! Now I'm going to see every material object as a potential worm bin condo addition. Hmmmm... what would make my worms even happier? My family already thinks I spent too much time with that "other family!"

I remember the ball idea used as a 'wet/dry' system for aquariums, particularly saltwater systems.( I used to have a pet store and have not messed with an aquarium since.) The idea was as water cascaded through them nitrogen wastes would be converted to nitrates. It was to enhance the surface area of the filter substrate.

For worms I think it would work as place to collect material and maybe some cocoons, but would be nightmare to collect castings from. I'd like to see somebody try them out, but it won't be me.

I agree, it's just adding junk to the farm.

Better to use the crushed/folded toilet paper tube idea.
