Controlling Worms

So, according to Wired magazine, scientists are beginning to be able to control worms using "magnetic nanoparticles".

Here is the link: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2010/07/magnetic-nanoparticles-can-remotely-control-worms/.

They mention potential ramifications in medical therapies and treatments, but I immediately thought of compost. I mean, seriously. Think of how fast you could git r done if you could control your worms. But seriously, though, if they perfect this, this could have ramifications in waste management as well, no?
