I don't know about making them more attractive to the fish, but my worms really love when I throw some freshwater weeds in there. Not too much at a time though due to the heat of greens decomposing. (I have not taste-tested to see if it tastes more like fish food or not!)

Thanks yeah I appreciate that the water weeds have been used in vermicompost with success.

I was going to leave the taste testing to the fish but suppose I could try it. If anyone has tried eating worms or what reason they should not be eaten/tasted, please let me know.

I am new to raising fishing worms, (red wigglers) I have them in an old freezer. They are reproducting really well, but I am wondering about the winter. I have covered them with leaves and keep feed sacks over them. Can you give me any suggestions. Thanks

Gardeniera, I am raising worms for fishing. I feed them chick starter, without wormer in it, and they are doing good. I also put used coffee grounds to keep the ants out. I think I am going to starting feeding my used corn meal to see how they like that.

I just wanted my worms to get a little bigger, I have no intention of using them for fishing, however I have been feeding them plain cornmeal every time I add food, (I only add food every two weeks), and they have gotten alot bigger.. I sprinkle in a handful on top of food scraps then cover back with fresh bedding. HTH

My worms started leaving the bed about three weeks ago. A friend said his does this every fall about this time. Can anyone give me an insight on the reason.

I don't think it matters much to the fish what you feed the worms. I know for sure that hybrid bluegill will go after EF, I've caught many in my pond along with some golden shiners. The same pond contains, large mouth bass and channel catfish. I've never caught a bass or catfish with EF, go figure.
I've read that trout will go for EF, but I haven't been able to verify this. It may be one of those, I heard it from a friend of a friend kinda things.
