Call me jaded but it sure looks like profit for the operators to me under the guise of cleaning up the chicago waste stream. Why is their worm separator top secret? Why not make it available to other humanatarians.

Yeah, I kinda agree with greengrass. My first impression was that the video was pretty slick & that the community aspect would seem to be to get the worm bins into the hands of newly-introduced rookie wormers all over the neighborhoods.

Maybe have competitive contests to see who makes the most vermicompost by spring planting season or something.

Spread the word/wealth. It's what I do which is why I've only achieved a wealth of gratification and worm poop instead of, you know, money.

I wish I knew where they were getting a van, a fork lift, a patent and a ladder all for $5k. Heck, I would take a fork lift for $5k.
4 lb of worms to, what did they say? 1000 lb of worms in 2 years? That seems like an extremely fast growth rate.
I like the idea. Right around the time I got into wormin', my sister's boyfriend told me that he had a dream of collecting and composting spoiled produce from grocery stores. Had, we actually had the motivation, I'd probably be in about the same boat as those FIBs in Chicago right now.
I hope they get their stuff to expand.
