Multi bin question

I have a multi-bin setup. I am no bin #2 - I stopped feeding bin #1 1 month ago. The migration upward is only 1/4 or 1/3 of the worms from bin #1 to bin #2. Bin #1 is FULL of worms that have not migrated. How long does it take - if left alone - for the worms to finish bin #1 and finally migrate to bin #2?

I always gave them 3 months, but you will always have a few stragglers in the lower bin. For some reason, some of the worms like it down there.

I agree there will always be some stragglers. The easiest way to harvest bin #1 is to put it on top of bin #2 and keep it agitated so that the worms will want to move 'down' to bin #2. This will get them all out of the first bin in a few hours.
