I always have a few worms in the bottom portion of my FT's. Especially small ones. I think the cocoons migrate down as the bin is harvested and the worms agitate the bedding. Then the babies stick around where they hatch as long as there is adequate food of the right consistency.

I put a ligt near there hoping to encourage them to move on up... I have a while before I need the VC so I am in no hurry.

It was neat to see all the paper transformed. Most was gone. It was covered with a thick layer of shredded newspaper and cardboard. I could see some paper but it was mostly black vc lookign stuff.

I sure hope I did not kill the adults. I did not see any but I also did not dig down at all.

I am resisting the urge to dump the whole thing and look around. ;)
