The Burrow approach to raising worms to add to compost bins

I recently ran into a series of articles at The Burrow entitled: How To Breed, Raise, and Maintain A 100-Pound Stock of Worms in a Single Room

http://www.jetcompost.com/burrow/tbp1.htm

My question is for people who have read this series or similar. I'm currently raising red worms inside my heated/cooled home, hoping to raise enough worms to add to my outside compost bins after they have cooled off. Would The Burrow's approach of raising really tiny worms and lots of coccoons work reasonably well, or is there another better approach for me?

Would I be better to simply purchase Vermipods from http://advancedbiotechnology.com/ and just "plant" them in my compost bins to grow into worms that would be pre-acclimated to the compost bins? So far I have no price info from them to know what that would cost.
