It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Santa Clause. It's Flying Pseudoscorpions! Vermicomposters with an over abundance of springtails or mites might just need a few pseudoscorpions to adjust the wee beastie balance. The same superpower is being looked at to save honeybees from Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Apparently pseudoscorpions eat Varroa destructor. This is apparently big stuff in the bee world for the last year. Beekeepers and researchers are looking for sources of pseudoscorpions. It is common to keep worm beds under rabbit cages. Is anybody keeping the bottom floor of their hive a worm bed? Adult Varroa destructor are often on the floor of the hive. I wonder if pseudoscorpions would patrol the hive looking for recently hatched mites? A hive and a worm bin in one? Peanut butter and chocolate? Even cooler is pseudoscorpions can hitch a ride on a bee.
