Does anybody know if clothesline wire would work for the wire that would go between the 2 uprights ? I live in a small town and the only 9 gauge wire i can buy comes in a 1000' roll , Way to big and expensive for me ,
I need to do about 60'

Hi heavyoilguy,

I'm not sure what kind of trellis you are constructing, but I have used clothesline to build a cucumber trellis. I used the plastic type clothesline since it is UV and weather resistant. The coated wire type should work well too as long as you aren't putting much weight on it. This type of clothesline was around $9.00 for 100 foot roll at Home Depot.

I have added a link to my cucumber trellis so that it give you a visual of what mine looks like.

I hope this helps you!

Here is a link that might be useful: Cucumber Trellis

i am using 1/2 inch metal conduit and it is working well i use a bender on one end of each joint and then slip an inexpensive connecting collar and use selftapping metal screw to hold them in place. as for using wire on trellis i buy #12.5 hitensile wire at .02 cents a foot from kencove and even at 1000 ft plus shipping its not that much
