WWYD? New Vertical Garding Plan

Hi, I just bought a house with a small backyard and what I think is a great spot to try vertical gardening. It faces southwest, so in about a month will have direct sun at noon. Here's the pix:

I apologize for how messy it is, my kids were out playing in the yard. My thought was to have a 4 foot by 20 foot raised bed that follows the risers on the deck, and have the plants climb up something all the way to the top of the deck.

Is this feasible? Does anybody have any design/implementation ideas? I'm not new to gardening, but I'm not an expert, either.

If you're talking about veggies you could grow them in either 5 gallon buckets or 18 gallon totes with the SWC concept, then trellis them on Cattle Panel attached to your upper deck supports, this would allow you to take down the whole setup whenever desired....
