Flowers that will only grow in the trellis?

I am such a rookie with all things green, so forgive me if this is a completely stupid question. But we had a bad experience with morning glories (our neighbors') that just took over the universe! So want to approach our own gardening decisions with a bit more forethought.

We have a brick detached garage which is quite prominent in our back yard living area. We don't want to hide it necessarily, but would like to dress it up a bit without taking away too much yard space. Seems like the perfect place for a vertical garden. But I want to make sure that I choose something that will stick to the trellis and not take over the brick.

Any suggestions? The wall locations face west and south. Looking for a flowering vine if there are any options that aren't overly attractive to bees.

Thanks very much for any suggestions/advice you might have.

Melissa
