Luffas in Missouri

Decided to grow some more Luffa gourds they take a long season I think 120days or longer I start mine inside and set them out in early May the young ones can be eaten and are good sliced like a cuke or fried like zucchini and they aren't attacked by any of the squash or cucumber beetles. Let them stay on the vine until everything has dried up them lay out to finish drying the skin should flake off and the seeds will come out through the stem end , I'll post pictures at the end of the season but you end up with the luffa sponges like you see in the store except you get the hole thing. I'll post a picture later of a finished one I have a couple left somewhere .
