Trellising large pumpkins

I'm gonna be growing pumpkins next summer/fall for the first time, and decided to grow them vertically. The variety of pumpkins will weigh anywhere from 10 to 50 lbs each. Right now, I am in the construction phase, and will post several construction entries on my blog. If you'd like to follow my vertical pumpkin journey, please stop by to see the progress! Thanks

Very interesting. I'm sure you get some nice round fruit and no mushy sides. Beware of falling fruit!

geeboss,

It looks like you tied a string to the STEM of the hanging fruit, is that accurate?

BTW, a great way to give the plants plenty of sun, but keeping the fruit from sunscald! GREAT Pics...I am jealous! Any pictures BEFORE the pumpkins made it that far along the trellis.
