Pls help identify pest on my V. Creeper

My virginia creeper has what appear to be eggs all over its stem. They are about the size of a rock salt crystal, perfectly clear, and round. I've never seen them before. I've sprayed with Neem oil but it's been raining so much they keep coming. Any idea what they are or what I am in for?

Arum, Thanks for the suggestion but there is no evidence of slugs anywhere in the garden so I still think (and hope) not. Is that how they reproduce?

I think they do have little clear eggs, but I guess it would be odd to see them on a vine. :) Arum

Thanks Arum. I'll just keep going with the neem oil and hope for the best.

I hope this is not too late, but Virginia Creeper is an amazing host plant for some of our most beautiful sphinx moths, and the 8-spotted forester (also a lovely little black moth with 8 white spots).

The eumorpha achemon sphinx is just gorgeous as is the Virginia Creeper moth, and the pandora sphinx, all of which use VC as a host.
