Gotta remove my Wisteria Vine

I have to have some railing repair done (poor workmanship issues with the railing) and have to remove my American Wisteria vines for access. Is there anything I need to be aware of before I remove them? I planned to cut the main trunks (3) at the point they touch the railings.

Thanks.

The vines are down. Gotta wait 'til the railing is re-installed and spring rolls around to train them back onto the railing. Oh, well...

Sorry you had to cut your wisteria down. I looked so beautiful, but am sure before long, it will again be!

Just a quick follow-up: It's mid-May and I'm in full training mode with my butchered vines from fall. I'm happy to report that the new growth is already covering about 2/3rd's of the railing they originally covered and are growing strong. Come this time next year, I will have my flowers back! Then I'll be back to grooming "Harry" for my daily therapy after work. Just me and my nippers. :-)

What a recovery!

It's Apr 22 and my wisteria is breaking bud for the first time since I had to cut them back for the railing repair. they look like they've never been cut! Wow! They look fabulous...exactly like they did 2 years ago before the cut down.
