Cascading Vine for Window Planter?

I recently moved out of a house with ample yard space to a converted attic with none. I'm trying to keep my sanity by growing potted veggies in the busted concrete patio out back, but would really like something I can look at/care for without going down 3 flights of stairs. I installed a small basket planter, screwed on to the outside of a windowsill. The problem is that the french windows open outwards and the bottoms of the window are only an inch or so from the top of the planter. If I grow something upwards I won't be able to open the windows more than a crack.

So, I'm reaching out to y'all for suggestions. What's a good vine that will grow up just a bit and cascade over the side and grow down? I'm thinking Carolina Jessamine right now because I love the look and fragrance and know they do well in the climate. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
