Concord Grape - Sprouting Inside in Jan? Help!

Hi,
I inherited a concord grapevine when my Father passed and I'm passionate about keeping it alive for him. It's a few years old and is happily planted in a large pot with holes. This year is the first year I've had it; it did fairly well this summer, producing a small handful of grapes. For the winter, I wasn't sure what to do with it so I brought it inside by the window and figured it would go into hibernation. No water, no nothing; just sitting near the window of the deck so it gets lots of sunlight. (As you can tell by now, I'm not an experienced gardener or plant person.) I was worried that the plant was dead until a few days ago I noticed 4 very long, green stalks sprouting out from the thick, dry, brown "branches" of the original vine. I take it it's not dead and that's wonderful! But it's also January and now it's sprouting - that can't be good for it at all. If anyone has experience with these grapes and has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
