Vine or Weed--Please Help

Can anyone identify this? I am not sure if it's a vine or weed. A couple years ago I noticed it in the front flower bed. It comes from a single soft root in the ground a forms tons of strands that wrap themselves around anything and take it over, smothering whatever it is... Now they are in my back yard and my garden.. Please help identify and how do I get rid of it???

This looks like a vetch (Vicia species), therefore probably a weed. If you post it on Name that Plant Forum maybe a US contributor can id it more precisely.

Thanks for the help. I looked at your link and google it also and it looks just like that, the only difference is that mine does not produce a flower. I will post in the plant forum too and see if there are any suggestions there.
