grandpa ott and kniola's black knight morning glories

Can anyone tell me how these are different. Could they be the same plant with different names? If there is a difference, which is better?

    Thank you that link was very interesting. I know I have planted Grandpa Otts, star of yelta, and President Tyler. I don't know which is which, but the one that grows by my well is a nice dark purple. The others are not as pretty and I think they have crossed with other morning glories.
