have grown Pearly Gates in the past and was very pleased - especially when grown with Flying Saucers.
I see that Burpee now has out Heavenly White.

Same thing or different? Any idea??

Mama I can't seem to find that one in the Burpee catalog I have or on there site. I would imagine it is the same thing, that company has a habit of using different names.

Do you have a link so I can see the picture?

I wonder why it's not in the catalog or on the web site? It looks like 'Pearly Gates' to me from the photo. My guess, it's going to be the same. Can yo get a closer picture of the front and back so I can read the writing? I am going to look for it if I get to Walmart.

Now I am curious!! LOL☺

Let me change out the batteries and get you some better pics.
I sent an email to Burpee via there website to see what they have to say.

I couldn't find it on their website either.

Package Reads

I can't get my camera to make a clearer pic.

Here is what pkg. says:
Morning Glory
Burpee's Heavenly White

Fragrant, 4-5" pure white blooms shine against dark green, heart-shaped leaves. Great for fences, trellises and arbors. Annual

Packed for 2007 Sell by 11/07
Origin Germany Lot 1

Does that help any?

That word "Fragrant" tells me it may be a moon flower.

Here is a link that might be useful: Ipomoea Alba

RE: Pearly Gates vs. Heavenly White MG

OH, Ronnie
I hope not.
I have plenty moonflower vine seed.

Geesh!

The word "Ipomoea" is no where on the pkg.

I am planning on going to Wally World soon - I will check the display out again. I am sure that they had a separate packet for moonflower vine.

What color are the seeds? (I should have asked that first!)

Ipomoea means morning glory basically. That is how some of the big companies pass off things that really are pretty common by giving them generic or fantasy names!!!

black

RE: Pearly Gates vs. Heavenly White MG

Mama, moonflower seeds are white so my guess is 'Pearly Gates' with a fancy new name!! ☺

 o
RE: Pearly Gates vs. Heavenly White MG

Yes, that is what I was thinking, too.
I went and pulled out my Moonflower Vine seeds and my older Pearly Gates and they look just like the Pearly Gates.

I will plant and see what comes up.

Geesh, I was sooooo excited to get a new white one.

Thanks for your help, Ronnie!

p.s. How did you do the smiley face?!?

 o
RE: Pearly Gates vs. Heavenly White MG

Mama if you want to trade a few for my white moonflower seeds or something else ( I have lots of MG.) e-mail me.

If you hit alt and then 1 you get a smiley, different nunbers give you different symbols. Play around. ☻
