Is my Carolina Jasmine dead?

Hi!

I bought 2 thriving Carolina Jasmine vines in late Summer 2008 and they seemed to be doing very well. Now we're coming out of winter (finally) and the leaves look very pale and brownish. There is no sign of any flowers and not much to make me think there is any new green growth. I know there is a hardiness question in my Zone (6) about this vine but shall I leave it and see what happens? Prune it? Or let it RIP?

Carolina Jessamine (not jasmine) really isn't hardy in your area, but there's a good chance that the roots haven't been killed. I'd cut it back to the ground and see what happens.

Thanks Rhizo. Yes, I know it's "Jessamine" but I've seen both. I'll give it a shot & see what happens!
