Creeping fig

I have a 4x75' split face wall that I would like to cover with an evergreen vine, but I already have Oakland Holly planted every 10' along the front. Can I plant creeping fig against the wall to cover it without it eventually taking over the hollies? I can't find anything to tell me if the vine will stay on the wall or if it will escape into my bed and become a problem. I see it growing up houses all of the time, so I assume that it must be able to be contained. If it can stay within 1' of the wall and only go up, I think it will be doable. I am okay with shearing it a few times per year if needed, I just don't want to have it spreading underground and popping up in unsuspecting areas.
