I planted this last spring, can anyone tell me if I can expect flowering this year? Is it a fast grower? It gets dappled sunlight all day.It is starting to bud out,but its still real small. Thanks for any info.

Yes, it should bloom this spring for you, but a word of caution about this vine - it is a MAGNET for APHIDS - spray often, like every other day, with warm soapy water, alcohol and light vegetable oil to control them.

You can also use Murphy's oil soap (alone) if you have it. Wash the soapy water off about 30 minutes after application with a garden hose.

You are welcome. Yes, start spraying now - you can't start too soon!

I planted a new Dropmore Honeysuckle this spring in full sun. It started to shoot out new branches with leaves from the centre. Now the branches seem to be wilting away one by one. I water every two - three days depending on the weather. How can I get this little guy going?
Thanks so much,
Rhonda

DO THE FLOWERS COME ON NEW GROWTH OR ON OLD? I DON'T KNOW WETHER TO PRUNE OR NOT. DO WE LEAVE THE VINES UP ON THE TRELLIS? I HAVE THE SAME QUESTIONS FOR THE HONEYSUCKLE GOLDFLAME.

sandyld, the Dropmore honeysuckle flowers on both old wood and the new. This vine is very hardy, so leave the plant upon the trellis for the winter ... for best flowering, do not hard prune, though no worries about trimming it somewhat if desired.

Can anyone tell me if it would be O.K. to move a Dropmore Honeysuckle Vine now? It has been in the same spot for years but is now being overwhelmed by Virginia creeper.
