Not-too-big vine for mostly shade

Debbie

I live in Contra Costa County, California--hot and dry in the summer, occasional frost in the winter. I'm looking for a vine for an area that is mostly shaded--not too big--I am trying to hide a drainpipe and have a narrow rounded trellis that will hold up a vine. All I can come up with is hardenbergia and possibly a clematis, if I can find one that won't run rampant in the space. Any other suggestions? It doesn't have to have flowers, but they would certainly help. I mostly want to "green-up" the space a bit. I have heuchera and juncus planted nearby, but your eye really focuses on the drainpipe, since it is the only thing that goes up the wall right now.
