Hyacinth Beans...

I finally was able to locate and buy some of these beautiful seeds.

My question would pertain to sowing them inside-would they adapt to being transplanting or is it best to wait for soil to warm and direct sow then?

Thank you!

Wait until the first of May and sow them directly where you want them to grow. They grow very large, very fast.

RE: Hyacinth Beans...

Agreed. I do not try them indoors, as they demand strong light, and they are extremely fast growing. The pods are as nice as the flowers, and you can save the seed, away from the cold, from year to year. I think the seeds might be poisonous and that the plant originated in Africa. Post a photo, if you are successful.

Thank you for replies! I will direct sow!
