hey Randy know it can't be too cold of a winter, I have one growing in Tripp SD, it blooms every year. Thought--is yours getting enough sunlight--I have that one growing in full sun, very poor soil--actually groing by the garage in gravel over clay soil, only getting watered when it rains.

is there such a thing as male and female plants?

I have a small wisteria that I had to move when it was an infant, so it's taking awhile to come back. I was told that you have to restrict it's growth (by braiding the vines together) or to root prune them by sticking a spade in the soil about a foot or so away from the base, and that's supposed to help them flower. They say if the soil is too fertile it can just keep growing and you won't get flowers.

Just don't quote me, I'm not an expert on wisteria.

I did find this post, if you go down it 1/3 of the way, you can see that most people have luck with 'blue moon' wisteria. I love that name! :)
