Absolutely! I now live in NW Florida, but when I lived in Kansas City, Mo., I grew them every year. I took cuttings just before the first frost, rooted them over winter, then re-planted in the spring, after the last frost - they did beautifully. I found it to grow more as a ground cover than a tall vine, though.

I grow it so that it covers a portion of a wooden fence. It needs to be secured and won't hold on by itself but it does beautifully until the cold weather hits. I just take cuttings and keep them in water in the greenhouse over the winter.
